Spring 2020 Green Tea: Limited Edition Mao Feng and Dragon Well
May 11, 2020
CC Fine Tea is proud to introduce two new premium seasonal green teas for the Spring of 2020! Limited availability: once sold out, these teas will be gone forever!
How were the Premium 2020 Spring Green Teas made?
Experienced tea professionals grew, harvested, and processed the Mao Feng and Dragon Well at tea garden.
Several conditions contribute to the aroma and flavor of these high-grade green teas:
- Higher Altitude between 2,400 and 3,000 feet: The misty mountains provide growing conditions for sweetness, smooth texture, and complexity of flavor.
- Made from the ancient local tea cultivar Jiu Kěng: Traditionally, this cultivar has been used to make green teas with a rich, robust flavor.
- Early Spring Harvest: This high-grade Chinese tea is known as Pre-Qing Ming, when the leaves are plucked before Qing Ming, the traditional Tomb Sweeping Festival.
- Hand picked: Only tender, young leaves of the perfect size were harvested by hand before early April.
- Small-batch, hand-processed: Experts made the tea by hand in small batches for complete control, resulting in superior flavor and aroma.
How is Spring 2020 Green Tea Unique?
1. Weather Conditions & Rare Flavor
Early spring in Zhejiang was icy and cold this year, contributing to the unique quality of the 2020 Spring harvest. Frost damaged about 40% of the new leaf sprouts. As our tea expert Jason Chen explains, only the strongest leaves survived.
Nature created a tea with a special energy and unique flavor: a small but superior crop. The tea has a pleasant floral and roasted chestnut aroma, and a bright and refreshing taste.
2. Slow Tea Industry & Low Price
The early months of 2020 have been a stressful time for people around the world, living through the COVID-19 crisis. Luckily, our garden is deep in the mountains of Zhejiang Province. This region responded to the outbreak early and effectively with strict safety measures. As a result, the people at our garden and facility stayed safe.Â
However, like many industries, the domestic and international tea markets have slowed. Luckily for our customers, we are selling these rare green teas at a price that would usually be impossibly low.
About Dragon Well Green Tea: Spring 2020 Limited Edition
Dragon Well is a world-famous, traditional Chinese green tea (known as Long Jing in Chinese). Historically, it was used as a tribute tea for Chinese emperors.
An experienced tea master delicately pan-fired this limited edition tea. The small batch of hand-picked leaves was finished in only one pan.
The flavor is fresh and slightly toasty, with a lingering sweetness, and a light orchid fragrance.
About Mao Feng Green Tea: Spring 2020 Limited Edition
The limited edition Mao Feng green tea (also known as Mountain Green Tips) is grassy and slightly vegetal, with a note of roasted chestnuts.
The hand-picked, early spring leaves are especially fresh tasting. The fragrance and flavor are clear and pronounced, yet delicate. This is the taste of liquid spring.
Happy Sipping!
Side-by-side cupping helps tea lovers develop their taste buds and discover their preferences. For those who want to learn more about green tea, we recommend brewing these limited-edition teas alongside our standard Mao Feng and Dragon Well Green Teas.
Or, pull out your favorite teaware and simply enjoy the day with a spectacular green tea.
Some teas, like Pu-Erh, are best after several years of aging. However, green teas like these are best drunk right away, while they are the most fresh.
We hope these high-quality green teas will bring brightness to your days this spring! But hurry, because they won’t last long.
