Pu-Erh Tea
Pu-Erh has high levels of polyphenols and is said to contain “Qi,” or energy. Both traditional raw (Sheng) and recently created (since 1979) ripe (Shou) Pu-Erhs offer health benefits to the digestive and circulatory systems. Pu-Erh is made from a tall tea tree species with large thick leaves and deep root systems that produce rich, complex aromas and flavors. The oldest known tea tree in Yunnan is 3,200 years old. Many believe that Pu-Erh was the first tea to be used as a beverage.
